Huawei’s big claim to smartphone fame is that its devices are huge in China, where it’s been challenging Samsung as a major player in the Android smartphone market. The company’s newest flagship smartphone, called the Ascend P7, is set to release soon and Nowhereelse.fr has posted some new leaked pictures of the device that show it has a very familiar look to it.
For instance, you might notice that Huawei has modified the stock Android user interface to give it uniformly designed icons that all have the same basic square shape with curved corners. You might also notice that the app icons are all much flatter looking than standard Android app icons and come in brighter, more distinct colors. And finally, you’ll notice that Huawei has chosen to use a purple-fading-into-blue color scheme for the default background of its modified version of Android’s home screen.
Hm, where have we seen all of these design elements together in one place before? We just can’t put our fingers on it.
