Have you caught smartwatch fever yet? Judging by early sales of smartwatches you probably haven’t but lots of other tech companies are nonetheless planning to pump out their own computerized wristwatches this year, including Apple and Google. Speaking of Google, @evleaks has provided some leaked details on Google’s first smartwatch, which will be manufactured by LG and will include a 1.65-inch LCD display with a resolution of 280 x 280 pixels, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage. @evleaks says that the processor for the watch has yet to be determined.

On paper, these specs are somewhat disappointing compared to Samsung’s Galaxy Gear 2, which similarly had a 1.64-inch display but that also had a superior resolution of 320 x 320 pixels. Of course, display resolutions on smartwatches aren’t as important as they are for smartphones and tablets — what will matter the most will be the features that Google packs into it and how well it integrates with Android smartphones and tablets.
