Google’s huge Nexus event is about to start – watch live right here!

Apple fans, you’ve had your day. The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been released, and they’re already in the hands of millions of users around the world. Now, it’s time to step aside while Android fans enjoy their day. Google is hosting a big event in San Francisco on Tuesday to unveil its next-generation device lineup. We’re expecting at least three big hardware announcements from the press conference today, and all three of them are likely to be big improvements over their predecessors.

During today’s event, Google is expected to unveil two new smartphones as well as a new version of its wildly popular Chromecast. On the smartphone side of things, we’re looking at an update to 2013’s Nexus 5 called the Nexus 5X, and an update to 2014’s Nexus 6 called the Nexus 6P.

According to countless leaks and rumors, the Nexus 5X is expected to feature a 5.2-inch 1080p high-definition display along with a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16/32GB of storage, a 12-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, a fingerprint scanner, a new USB Type-C port and a 2,700 mAh battery.

On the larger side of things, the new Nexus 6P phablet will reportedly sport a 5.7-inch AMOLED display with ultra HD 2K resolution, an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor, 3GB of RAM, 32/64/128GB of storage, a 12-megapixel rear camera, an 8-megapixel selfie camera, a fingerprint scanner, a USB-C port and a huge 3,450 mAh battery with fast charging support.

Both new phones will launch running Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and Google is expected to confirm the new software’s release date during today’s event.
