Google is just everywhere these days, offering a wide variety of web-based productivity applications that are slowly encroaching on Microsoft’s dominance of the enterprise app market. The latest out of the gate is their new Sites application. As a newly integrated part of Google’s hosted application suite, Sites allows users to easily set up internal web sites containing a wide variety of information, including videos, text, presentations, and more. All of this can be shared with project participants, as well as published for public consumption. Based on technology acquired from Jotspot, Google Sites is a low / no-cost alternative to an expensive intranet infrastructure. We approve.
