Batman’s revival has been a multimedia affair. It started on the silver screen, but the grim world of the Dark Knight quickly bled over into gaming with Batman: Arkham Asylum in 2009. The series gained traction as positive word spread, and subsequently exploded into the mainstream with Arkham City in 2011, an improvement over the original in every way and a contender for game of the year. After passing off development to Warner Bros. Games for last year’s Arkham Origins, Rocksteady Studios is back in driver’s seat for Arkham Knight, the final game in the series and the first for next-gen consoles.

Batman: Arkham Knight takes place one year after the events of Arkham City, featuring a host of new villains for Batman to face off against. Details are sparse, but Rocksteady has confirmed that Gotham will be larger this time around to accommodate for the Batmobile. Which you can drive. I know.

Preordering will net you access to the playable Harley Quinn add-on, which should be similar to the Catwoman missions in Arkham City. Batman: Arkham Knight will be available later this year for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
