Many Mac users are too young to have purchased and used an original Apple Macintosh computer, and now it’s too late for them to do so. But what if some of those same designs were brought back to life in a completely unexpected iMac? That’s exactly what Curved Labs did, imagining a perfect mix between the old Macintosh and today’s Macs, and creating a modern Macintosh that might impress computer buyers.
The iMac shown in the images above and below is a fresh take on a 31-year old design. Instead of the bulky Macintosh that you’d find no use for in today’s computer landscape, Curved Labs’ iMac imagines a Mac packing the same display found on the 11.6-inch MacBook Air, with the addition of touch support.
The Macintosh’s 3.5-inch disk slot is repurposed to house modern elements, including an SD card slot, FaceTime camera, speakers and a microphone.
Interestingly, Curved Labs also imagines this iMac having a built-in battery that will let the user set up the Mac “at different work locations on the fly.”
