earlier today rolled out a new iPhone 6s ad featuring none other than Cookie Monster. Titled “Timer”, the ad features Cookie Monster using the iPhone 6s’ always-on “Hey Siri” feature to set a timer as he prepares to bake what we can only imagine are delectable cookies.
And then, the waiting game begins.
With the timer set to 14 minutes, Cookie Monster quickly becomes impatient, prompting him to once again beckon Siri, this time with a request to begin playing songs from his “waiting” playlist. Siri readily obliges and we’re soon graced with sweet sounds from Jim Croce’s melodic 1973 ballad, “Time in a Bottle.”
DON’T MISS: How to see exactly how much money you’ve spent at Amazon in your life
As the commercial progresses, we see Cookie Monster engage in all sorts of comcial and absurd behavior as he tries desperately to patiently wait for his cookies to finish baking. The commercial ends with Cookie Monster asking Siri for a status update on the timer. And lo and behold, only 51 seconds have gone by.
Oh the humanity!

Some of Apple’s commercials have been somewhat hit or miss lately, but this one really hits the mark.
Currently, the hands-free “Hey Siri” command only works on Apple’s iPhone 6s models due to the presence of Apple’s M9 motion coprocessor. Note, though, that the upcoming iPhone SE will likely come with an M9 chip, and in turn, will be able to process “Hey Siri” commands even when the device isn’t being charged.
As a final point, you might remember that this isn’t the first time Apple has showcased the hands-free “Hey Siri” feature in a commercial. A few months back, Apple rolled out an ad called “Crush” starring Jamie Foxx.
