There is absolutely no question that the upcoming Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge release will be two of the hottest smartphone launches of 2015. The phones are unlike anything Samsung has ever released in the past, sporting bold new designs and premium materials that complement their cutting-edge components and stunning displays.
We saw the phones unveiled earlier this month and we spent some hands-on time with both the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge, but Samsung still hasn’t announced exactly when these new flagship smartphones will finally be released.
Thanks to a new leak, however, we might not have to wait for official word from Samsung to find out.

According to Phone Arena, Samsung’s new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will both launch on April 11th on all major wireless carriers in the United States. The site has accurately scooped news like this in the past, though there are a few important caveats with this particular report.
First, Phone Arena points to word from a single unnamed source who supposedly works at a U.S. carrier in reporting this release date. This means the blog was seemingly unable to confirm the news with a second source.
Then, the fact that the 11th is a Saturday isn’t doing this leak any favors; smartphones do not typically launch on Saturdays. The S6 and S6 edge represent a big departure for Samsung, however, so perhaps the company is shaking up its launch strategy as well.
Samsung’s new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge feature 5.1-inch quad HD Super AMOLED displays, Exynos octa-core processors, new 16-megapixel cameras and all-metal and glass construction.
