If you were waiting for the perfect moment to jailbreak your iPhone 6, you might have already missed your chance. iDownloadBlog reports that Apple has stopped signing iOS 8.1.2, which means that users can no longer downgrade to the previous version of the operating system.
LAST TIME: The one reason to not install iOS 8.1.3 on your iPhone 6… and how to downgrade if you did
If you’ve already jailbroken your phone or tablet (and want to keep it that way), you’re going to need to avoid updating to the latest version of iOS or restoring your device until a new jailbreak is released. If you somehow wind up with the iOS 8.1.3 on your device, you’re out of luck.
If you ever want to check the signing status of any iOS firmware update, just head to IPSW.me with the number of version in the URL. So if you want to confirm for yourself that iOS 8.1.2 is no longer being signed, just click on this link: IPSW.me/8.1.2.
All those warning signs mean that the firmware is dead.
There hasn’t been much news regarding a jailbreak for iOS 8.1.3, but jailbreaks have generally been coming out much faster throughout the iOS 8 life cycle than during previous releases. We’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for any news regarding a jailbreak in the coming days.
