Later this month, Microsoft is expected to roll out its Windows 9 technical preview version, after properly unveiling its next significant desktop operating system update. In the meantime more videos demoing some of the upcoming Windows features were published online by WinFuture, confirming other major features coming to Windows 9 aside from the Start button.

FROM EARLIER: Leaked Windows 9 video finally reveals the new Start menu

The German publication has posted two short videos on its YouTube channel, demoing two features that were not previously available to Windows users, including a Notification Center and support for multiple desktops.

The Notification Center is similar to what’s available to Windows Phone users, with all notifications appearing in a new window on the right side of the screen, in a list that includes notifications from various apps, but also system-related notifications.

The multiple desktop feature is similar to what Mac users already have at their disposal in OS X, allowing Windows 9 users to set up various desktops and assign certain apps to those particular working spaces. As the second video below shows, users can quickly add multiple desktops, and delete extra ones with similar ease. A special “Task view” button opens up a multiple desktops view section that takes up the screen’s bottom (horizontally) while on top of the multiple desktop strip the apps assigned to each desktop appear.

The Notification Center and multiple desktop Windows 9 video demos follow below, while a similar demo of the new Start menu is available at this link.
