The LG G3 may offer buyers the kind of screen that was rumored for the Galaxy S5 not too long ago, at least according to a User Agent Profile revealed by @evleaks. According to the information in the screenshot posted by the famed leaker, the LG G3 will have a QHD display – that’s quad HD resolution or 2560 x 1440 or 2K. Furthermore, this 2K handset has model number LG D850, which can only mean it’s the G3, the company’s next flagship model, assuming the leak is accurate.
A few days ago, the same @evleaks tweeted that “LG D850 [is] coming to AT&T,” adding that “D800 was G2, D820 was Nexus 5, and D830 was G Pro 2.” Meanwhile, Samsung is said to introduce a 2K Galaxy S5 model at some point later this year.
LG has been rumored to push the G3 launch date to June or July, to better compete against Samsung and other Android device makers that are already preparing to launch their first smartphone flagships of the year. The company did unveil a new high-end device at MWC 2014, the G Pro 2, although that device will compete in the phablet segment of the mobile market.
