If the Dutch iTunes store is to be believed, the answer is a definite “yes!” The Dutch store is currently running an ad for the iPod Touch, advertising the multi-touch DAP at the bargain basement price of 199 Euros. This represents an 79 Euro drop from the original price of 279 Euros. This drop would lend credence to a set of rumors circulated before the recent SDK announcement, stating that the iPod Touch would see a $100 price drop. If this happens, it’s a good bet that the 8 GB model will go the way of the DoDo, bringing the 16 GB model in at $299, and the 32 GB model in at $399. Coupled with the recent price drop on refurbished iPhones, this could mark a real push by Apple to corner the entry-level market.
