Nokia is reportedly prepping a new supersized smartphone called the Lumia 1520, and the phablet has seemingly emerged in its first-ever leaked photo. Windows Phone Central published the image on Wednesday evening, though it noted that the source of the photo is not a familiar one. The device pictured in the photo is believed to be real, however, and it represents several firsts for Nokia and Windows Phone.
For one thing, the Lumia 1520 will be the first Windows Phone device to fall into the “phablet” category thanks to its massive 6-inch display, which is even larger than the screen on Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note III. Nokia’s Lumia 1520 is also expected to be the first Windows Phone with a full HD 1080p display and the first with a quad-core processor.
Other rumored specs for the upcoming Lumia 1520 include a polycarbonate case with a design identity similar to the Lumia 925, a 20-megapixel PureView camera and wireless charging support.
Nokia is expected to unveil the new Lumia 1520 during a press conference on September 26th alongside the company’s first crack at a Windows RT tablet.
