The first half of The Walking Dead season 6 ended with more tension and cliff hangers than some fans could deal with, and social media lit up on Sunday night from the moment episode 8 began straight through until the moment it ended. Perhaps it’s yet another reason that the episode’s title “Start to Finish” was so appropriate. The practice of splitting seasons into two sections is insanely annoying, but AMC’s hit show will now take a break until February 2016 when episode 9 marks the start of the second half of season 6.
While we still have quite a bit of waiting to do until then, AMC has already released the first two minutes of next year’s premiere episode to give us a taste of what’s in store.

We won’t spoil anything big from episode 8 in this post, but suffice it to say it was action packed. The end of episode 7 saw the church tower collapse and destroy part of the wall surrounding Alexandria, and walkers were beginning to make their way into the town. Sunday night’s episode picked up right where episode 7 left off, and it was a terrifying rollercoaster ride from start to finish.
By contrast, episode 9 begins quite calm.
As you’ll see in the 2-minute teaser video below, the second half of this season begins with Daryl, Abraham and Sasha driving back toward the town when they’re stopped by a small group of bikers in the middle of the road. The ensuing exchange reveals that the bikers are with Negan, a character that fans of the comics will be very familiar with.
The full preview video, which first aired during Sunday night’s episode of Into the Badlands, is embedded below.
