Android topped Millennial Media’s usage share charts for the eleventh consecutive month in October as the smartphone platform landscape stayed completely flat. The mobile ad network served 56% of impressions to Android devices, 28% to iOS handsets and 13% to BlackBerry phones last month, just as it did between July and September according to its third-quarter Mobile Mix report. Apple inched up slightly as October’s top vendor with 23.50% share compared to 23.09% during the third quarter, and HTC showed the most growth, passing Samsung to take the No.2 spot with 18.11%. Apple’s iPhone was the most popular handset line with a 12.53% usage share but Samsung had a strong showing with six of the top-20 phones on Millennial’s network. One of those phones, the Samsung Freeform, is the first feature phone to break into Millennial’s top-20 devices list since May of this year. Additional charts from Millennial’s October Mobile Mix report follow below.
