Foxconn expected to ship 20 million iPad 2 units in Q3

Apple manufacturing partner Foxconn will ship a total of 20 million iPad 2 units during the third quarter, DigiTimes said on Thursday. That figure is up 60% from the second quarter and the orders are expected to be the prime catalyst for Foxconn’s growth during the second half of this year. The iPhone and iPad maker on Thursday reported $945.93 million in net profits for the first half of the year. Rumors of parts shortages and labor problems originally suggested that Foxconn would have trouble meeting iPad shipment demands during the second quarter, when it was expected to ship 2.5 million to 3 million iPad 2 units to Apple per month, so it appears Apple has finally worked out the kinks in its supply chain. Apple is expected to ship 12-14 million units of its iPad 2 tablet during the third quarter. Read

Foxconn makes 945 million in profit and pays their workers less than 200 a month. This is just crazy that companies can pay workers so little in these countries and apple could care less about it. Long tedious hours of work for pennies on the dollar. Absurd
