Latest Swype keyboard hits Sprint's Nexus S 4G [video]

mobile

Swype released the latest version of its popular software keyboard exclusively for Sprint Nexus S 4G users on Tuesday. Swype now supports new app gesture features, shortcuts, dictionary management, automatic noun capitalization and more. Users, for example, can now move from the Swype Key to “t” and then “w” to automatically launch Twitter. The shortcuts feature allows you to select all by moving from the Swype Key to “a,” and cut, copy or paste using similar gestures. We tested all the new additions on a demo Nexus S 4G with the Swype preloaded, and we liked the new features but we still can’t get the hang of typing quickly with it just yet. It’s unclear when the latest Swype iteration will be available for other Android handsets, but Nexus S 4G owners can update immediately. Hit the jump for a quick video of the new features in action.

Eww Sprint yuck.  Sprint is for blacks.

I know a couple of white people who use Sprint too.  I think Black people might gravitate more to Boost because of gangsta advertising but I know Blacks who use other carriers so YMMV.

Because race has everything to do with the criteria you use to select a carrier right?………..moron

Oh sorry, there’s no such carrier exist.

Do you know how annoying this generic comment is becoming?

Oh no.  Who invited LaToya back? LOL She was that nasty chick who used to troll BGR and add nasty replies to every comment.

I remember her.  But if I recall “her,” was a “him.”  Probably some young white dude pretending to be black and doing a real bad job at it. Haha

When does the Nexus Prime hit?  I want to use that on T-Mobile.  Either that or the IP5 if they get it.  Not really into CDMA carriers like Sprint but more power to those who do.

I have used Swype since it was first in Beta, and each Beta keeps getting better and better! I installed this this morning on my Nexus S 4G and it is great.

Swype still sucks. No Swype user will be able to beat me on an iPhone, hence my unofficial record.

If you found iXxxxx make you typing skyrocket fast, it’s good for you, but we don’t need your bragging.

My biggest complaint about Swype is how the keyboard stops working when updates are released.   I dont know if everyone has this problem.  Why cant they just notify me that there is an update and allow the keyboard already on the phone to continue to work?

That said really a killer app for touch screen phones.  This is the tool that has kept me from going back to a BB Bold.
