Kyocera Echo pre-orders start at RadioShack

Sprint’s new dual-screen Kyocera Echo is now available for pre-order from RadioShack. The Echo sports two different displays for a total 4.7-inches of touchscreen real estate. The Echo’s second screen can be used to run two applications at once, as a full QWERTY keyboard, or to enhance gameplay. The Android 2.2 (Froyo) powered smartphone is also capable of creating a Wi-Fi hotspot, which allows you to share the Echo’s 3G connection with other Wi-Fi enabled devices. The Echo — which costs $199 with a new two-year Sprint contract – will ship from RadioShack on April 17th. For more info on the Echo be sure to check out our hands-on.

    Well I’ve got one in my hands right now, and after playing with it over night I like it. It’s a really cool concept! Oh yea, it comes with an extra battery and external charger.

    I’m predicting this phone will be free on new 2-year contract or update by June. They have to clear inventory somehow. In fact, they might as well give those Premier Silver people their 1-year upgrade with this P.O.S.

    unsupported duel screen….check

    But I dont understand why its bashed. I get that no one will actually make things to utilize that 2nd screen, is that it? Has lots of potential but thats it, just potential. Am I right in my assumption or am I missing something obvious?

    EVERBODY DOWNING THIS PHONE WHEN THEY DONT EVEN HAVE IT. GET THE PHONE AND TRY IT OUT YOURSELF BECAUSE THIS PHONE ISNT EVEN BAD AS PEOPLE ASSUMED IT WOULD BE. IT GREAT AND I LIKE IT ALOT. MY BROTHER HAS THE EVO AND HE SAYS HE EVEN WISH HE HAD THE KYOCERA!!!
