Tried on my X but it wouldnt install. The one that came with the 2.2 download seems to work fine for me though. No problem watchn movies on ch131.com

12.52mb. That’s the number that has me asking myself, “Do I really need flash on my Droid?” . . . I’m leaning heavily toward “No.”

How reserved is the space on your phone? Can’t you move anything to your sd? I just got rid of google earth, which I never used. I have 100 mb left with a ton of apps installed.

      • ProfessionalGun

I’m out of my element! :)

. . . I have a ton of stuff loaded. . . and believe me, I’ve moved every app to the SD that will allow it. With flash installed, I’m at 75mb of free space onboard – which is comfortable – but I find that when I near 50mb of free space, my phone struggles with memory intensive widgets. So that’s where I’m coming from.

delete the porn apps…with flash you can watch many more videos online…including replacements for what you will need to delete

      • ProfessionalGun

Porn apps, huh. . . :) Not really treading into that territory – but point taken!

. . . I don’t mean to hate on flash (to those who have seriously disliked my comment above) – I just wish it wasn’t such a heavy bitch!

It’s staying on my phone for the foreseeable future. Just another reason to love Android.

“Leaked”? These have been available the day-of market release since beta 1.

It’s funny when I see the same authors, whether they be on Engadget or BGR try to report on Android “news” and fail.

    • ProfessionalGun

I don’t know about you – but the version of Flash 10.1 I installed on my phone a while back is NOT the same version number BGR is talking about here.

      What’s with the hostility?

      • Artbungler

Mine has the same build number, and I got it a while ago.

      • ProfessionalGun

Huh. I stand corrected, then. I was running 10.1.61.68 – so I must have grabbed an old build before.

        Regardless – I found Andrew’s post helpful.

        Over a week ago: http://blog.tekhawk.com/2010/08/android-flash-player-101-final-apk.html

Sorry that people need their stale news from BGR/Engadget. Downvote away.

  • stephen

just tried it on my x and it installed just fine.

  • BubbaGanoosh

The hostility is from 20 something little punksthat have nothing to contribute but immature crap on the boards.
I for one am fine with the flash version on my droidx. Once you have flash you can never go back it truly rounds out the internet experience on a phone.

    • better than you

I’m not a 20 something, I’m 20. I run an alternative news website that broke this news over a week ago with a direct link to the APK.

If you’d like to think that BGR is providing some sort of special service, or that they appreciate you defending them… keeping on smoking that crack.

  • Droid

If you already updated to the leaked FROYO OS why bother updating the flash again?

  • WHAAA!!!!

ahhhhh.. It feels good to have a true internet experience on my phone.

  • AusFest

Just installed it, got my phone clocked at 800mhz and its working good

Hopefully Seiko and Adobe can get together soon so we can have a “Full Internet Experience” on a watch. If you thought the “Full Internet Experience” was “cool” on the screen of a “Smart Phone” just wait until you can play FarmVille on a 1.2 inch screen.

The times, they are a changing. Thank you Adobe for making the “Full Internet Experience” available on the smallest of screens.

Its actually pretty awesome. I watched a full length episode of weeds on megavideo the other night on a car ride. No heat, no battery drop, really outstanding quality. I usually only use it for little five minute videos here and there, or certain websites(my bank) that use flash, but it is nice to be able to watch videos that people haven’t/can’t put on youtube. I am amazed that they could implement flash video as well on a 600mhz droid as a 1.66ghz asus netbook.
      BTW what is farmville?

  • Dennis Radaman

    damn I love android

  • DInc

    Flash completes me.

Why does andrew munchback posts all the news on bgr?

  • Eric

I cannot rock a 2.2 handset because HTC and Verizon have not released 2.2 for the HTC Incredible yet. What gives???

    • SGT Richards

I have it on my incredible

      • TypicalAppleHatingDBAG

not everyone is a fag with hours of free time to mess with their phone

“Adobe Flash 10.1 files leaked, will work on any Android 2.2 handset”

This title is misleading and should be changed. It will not work on any Android 2.2 handset. If you have a ARMv6 handset (Sprint Hero, Sprint Moment, T-Mobile G1, T-Mobile myTouch 3G, T-Mobile CLIQ, T-Mobile Behold II, Verizon Droid Eris, Verizon Devour, etc) with a custom Froyo build flash will not work.

It’s been compiled for ARMv7-A architectures. It will work on the EVO, Droid, DroidX, Incredible, etc.

  • reusable

2.2…isn’t that the OS that no one can get?

  • rtn1911

Great. Installed fine. Works fine. DX

  • gee

working fine on my hd2 running froyo 2.2.6/ just wish it would work on my iphone.

  • Flash
  • Lui-G

Would I be able to watch Hulu with this FlashPlayer 10.1? HTC EVO 4G with Froyo.

  • Chris Beiser

Not quite “any” phone running Froyo. It needs ARMv7. Which is something users of the G1, Hero, and a number of other devices lack. lame.
