Verizon to have sufficient inventory for the Droid X launch

With supplies of the HTC EVO 4G and the Droid Incredible non-existant, it was not surprising to see rumors floating around that the Droid X would experience a similar shortage when it launches on July 15th. Our own sources have confirmed many stores will have 50-100 Droid X handsets good to go with more (30k or more per warehouse) waiting idly in regional warehouses ready to ship overnight if stores sell out. Those levels sound sufficient to us and it leaves us with only one last question — who amongst us is going to scoop up this hot Android handset tomorrow?’

    just an fyi….for those who dont wanna deal with the mail in rebate and/or driving to the store…

    you can upgrade online right now. i thought i’d give it a shot at 10pm pacific time since that was technically the 15th on the east coast…and whaddya know…the droid x was available for the uprgade on vzw.com with free overnight shipping meaning i’ll be playing around with this badboy sometime on friday.

    As an original DROID owner and android luver… please don’t buy this phone. Moto’s lockdown of the device is an affront to the entire android enthusiast community.

    My next phone will be most likely be HTC or possibly Samsung. Suck it Moto.

    Showed up at local VZW store at 4am, one person ahead of me. Store had ten phones and by 8am there were 25 people standing in line.

    The x is a beast. I love it so far. Great form factor for my big hands.

    Public Service Announcement:
    Looks like Verizon will have plenty of Droid X phones in inventory; just passed Verizon, 100 Wall Street, NYC, moments ago and there were 3 people in the store. [or, maybe they're already sold out because the same executive in charge of ordering the Incredible placed the inventory order for the X ??]

    The store by my house only got 9 phones and they were gone by the time I got there after work.
    My rep promised to hold one for me but said he couldn’t due to the low initial shipment today.

    He said they will get a shipment in Tuesday. We’ll see.

    This is false in Raleigh…all stores were sold out by lunch. In fact they all said they only had enough for preorders. This phone sucks vs original Droid not in the same league, but fyi post is false.
