At CommunicAsia, Samsung officially announced three new Android handsets that will be released in Europe and Asia this summer. Say hello to the Galaxy 3, the Galaxy 5, and the Galaxy Beam. The Galaxy 3 will sport a: 3.2″ WVGA touchscreen display, a 240 x 400 resolution, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, and a 3.0 megapixel autofocus camera. The Galaxy 5 will have a: 2.8″ QVGA touchscreen display, Wi-Fi b/g, Bluetooth 2.1, and a 2.0 megapixel fixed focus camera with LED flash. The Galaxy Beam, which is the real high-end offering of the group, will offer a: 3.7″ WVGA SUPER AMOLED touchscreen display, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, an 8 megapixel autofocus camera with flash, a-GPS, FM tuner, a built in pico-projector (hence the name), an impressive 1800 mAh battery, and Android 2.1. Pretty cool stuff from Samsung. Look for all three handsets to drop overseas this July.

I am never buying another Sammy phone again (Eternity sucker here). Unless of course, they all of a sudden provide excellent firmware/software support. But given their track record, I highly doubt that.

Wow, they look just like the other Samsungs, all of them.

Looks like absolute junk, again agreed.

Finally the beam is being put into production. When they annouced the wave and the Galaxy S , I was baffled as to what became the Beat. The practicality of having a seemingly exposed projector to me is unclear but in terms of hardware and the promising OS, the Samsung beam surely seems intriguing.
