Bell launches the HTC Legend

Virgin Mobile is no longer the only Canadian carrier to offer the HTC Legend, as today its parent company, Bell, announced that it too will be carrying the milled aluminum handset. Sporting the same $79.99 price tag for those that opt for a 3-year contract, the only major difference between the two is that the Bell Legend goes for $399.99 off contract while the Virgin model goes for $349.99 with a 30-day commitment. Anyone in Canada thinking of picking this up, or are you going to sit tight and see what happens with the rumor of a Telus Desire?

    Good on Bell.

    Nice looking phone.

Myself though, Telus & The Desire.

When it’s released 1 person will be standing in line….

In all honesty, its near bullet proof phone, though I can see the battery door being held on by tape on some users phone over the course of ownership.

Better then being Glass slabbed though by a long shot.

I think this might be the one for me. Desire looks great, but there will always be another faster phone coming out….

My contract with Bell is almost up and I’ve had enough of my ancient HTC Touch and WM. I’ll miss the $10 unlimited data option on the touch, but what good is unlimited data when it’s painful to use.

Same here, I’ve been most happy (ok, love/hate at times) with my HTC Touch WinMo 6.5 and unlimited plan…

Just waiting for the right HTC phone. I hope we’ll be able to flash Windows Phone 7 onto the HTC Legend…

Still not decided. A lot wil depend what kind of retention plan Bell Mobility can offer. (10 year customer)…

Yeah, I’m going to give Bell their chance to retain me too. I’ve gone in to the stores but been told I’ll have a better chance getting a deal through phone customer support.

The big 3 all have very similar voice/data plans for smartphones starting at ~$50 for 500Mb. If I keep my existing Bell plan less the $10 unlimited ‘mobile browser’ and add the data separately, also works out about $50 but also includes voicemail and caller ID.

just for the record… you won’t be able to flash winpho7 on the legend… too much trouble to port windows on a linux core…

    @Robert B., LOL…sad but true…

    Posted from BGR Mobile (iPhone).

Got it, unlocked it, put it on fido and have the SMS timestamp issue. It’s a nice light phone. Screen is nice on it.

Picked up one of these this week (i’m in the UK on Vadofone) Great phone, really easy to tailor to your exact needs. Love the apps – QR Codes are great.

i will personally buy the legend… but i am a sales rep for bell… so i don’t really have the choice, if it wasn’t of that i would go with the desire or the milestone… both from telus

Some smart people writing in forums that htc legend will not get an 2.2 Froyo update.
    Worth to wait for desire?
