Could this be the first Nokia Symbian^3 handset?

Rumor

nokia-n8-80-leak

As CTIA 2010 kicks off this morning, a Chinese blog has leaked images of what it alleges is to be Nokia’s first Symbian^3 offering. If genuine, this device is almost definitely what we know to be the N8-00, a phone we learned about just prior to MWC 2010. Specs are currently as fuzzy as the pics, but from what we’ve seen and read it looks like this device is made of a single piece of aluminum and features a high resolution (likely WVGA) capacitive display anywhere from 3.5″ to 4″ alongside a 12 megapixel camera with Xenon flash, HDMI-out and 3.5mm headphone jack. Now, we’re not totally sure what Nokia has planned for today, tomorrow and the next day, but we’ll be sure to keep our sure to keep our eyes peeled for this and other mysterious devices during our stay in Vegas.

looks a lot like the “n98″ sidekick-esque slider render on engadget from a few weeks back. i hope it’s real. i’d get it in that funky green colour.

bgr always seems to be a few hours behind engadget. don’t flame me on that. it’s just a personal observation. you have a right to your own opinion.

Beside a blurry pic, I can only see one button on the front. Isn’t it Apple patented technology?

At first glance, it looks kinda like the Droid.

I know they still sell huge amounts of dumb-phones all around the world, but as far as modern smart phones go, Nokia is pretty irrelevant now, sad to say, since they’re the ones who really kicked things off with the original N95.

Funny how an irrelevant company has its smartphone market share above 40% :)

Actually, didn’t they just revise down their numbers to 34%? It’s been either flat or dropping year over year, while RIM and Google/Android has no place to go but UP.
