Fresh out of China emerges the Motorola Shadow/Mirage, yet another Motorola Android handset

Rumor

mobile-01-motorola-shadow-mirage

Our Chinese is a bit rusty and the details are sparse but it looks like Motorola may be brewing up another Android-powered handset. This handset, codenamed the Mirage or the Shadow, breaks the mold by sporting a 4.3 inch, 800×484 display instead of the now standard 3.7 inch display. It is also rumored to include an HDMI port, 8 megapixel camera, 1080p video playback and measures a mere 9.0mm in thickness. The rendering provided is crude but the handset appears to have the same angular design of the Motorola DROID and Milestone. That is all we have on this Mirage/Shadow as no other details are available. Anyone out there care to fill in the blanks?

Thanks, Bryan!

Happy New Year! Heck, I might as well cram my laptop into my pocket. Is there anything that isn’t possible these days? I suspect that 2010 will see leaps in mobile phone technology that will further blur the lines between mobile phones and mobile computing.

We hope that Motorola will make good android and reincarnate their brand finally. I think that they don’t invest money into development. After iphone all companies just wakeup.

.. so they are doing this to ressurect the dying moto company? More details about the shadowy phone: http://bit.ly/motorola-mirage-shadow-on-the-loose

They’re gonna ruin it with less than necessary front hardware buttons… a lack of a front camera (Hello Xperia X10) and possibly poor battery life…

I think it looks really cool & consumers are going to love it for its versatility. It has more pixals than my TV.

There is no need to speculate what the Shadow will look like – just take a look at the Moto Nav TN500 and add speaker and mic: http://mediacenter.motorola.com/imagelibrary/detail.aspx?MediaDetailsID=860

I have to say I have a Milestone and though it works fine and looks great, I will trade it for the Shadow in a sec! Can’t wait for this one to hit the shelves. Hoping they’ll launch more great Android devices WITH fysical keyboard! Check gsmarena for full specs.
