Palm's Mojo SDK leaks out to the masses

Software

Oops. Following Palm’s decision to let some new devs into the early access program yesterday, the company’s apparent worst nightmare just came true: People can play actually with the Mojo SDK. Nooooooooo. One of the devs who was finally given access to the SDK decided he/she would take matters into his/her own hands and leak it on an IRC channel for all those who have been denied access to this point. We’re not going to post a link to the SDK of course, but it really shouldn’t be all that hard to find if you know how to use Google. You do know how to do that, right?

Well, people are impatient. Palm should know that by now. Why put off tomoro what you can do today.

All Palm has to do is put a disclaimer up that the Apps are unapproved. Kinda like when you downloaded Games and Ringtones from people other than Sprint. They will work, but if something goes wrong its not their problem.

I just hope people dont flood it with thousands of Pointless Apps like alot the IPhone apps are

  • Abhi

    Second. Or so I think.

  • gamer

    Yeah, real “leak”.

  • Pre Killer

I hope someone makes an app that can blow up the phone. Such a POS.

  • The Juan Juice

    Im lovin it!!!!

  • Chris

Honestly though, should they have waited this long to release something like this? aren’t they only hurting themselves?

I’m just curious as to why a company would wait to release such an item that could possibly make them a lot of money especially when that company is in such dire straits as Palm is. What is the advantage to something like that?

I’m glad its out there now though and I too pointless apps are kept at bay. Please god fart apps need not apply….

  • Chet

Sprint Blackberry tour confirmed for july 20th.

  • warhed

Well let’s hope that it doesn’t flood with the all the stupid fart apps & lifesabers apps….

  • Don’t-hate

Blackberry Tour For Sprint July 20th!

    http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/27/sprint-launching-blackberry-tour-on-july-20th/

Now if only i can find out about the Touch Pro 2. I wonder what those 4G & Android Devices will have Keyboard or not. But hell ill get the tour @ Full Price, let my contract expire August 16th, then wait in the weeds to Extend my Contract With an Android or 4G phone

  • ilikephonesthatwork

Now if you could only be on the web and reply to an email at the same time with the new Iphone, THEN I would be impressed! lol…

  • dear chap

And the relation between the Mojo SDK leak and the arrival of Sprint Blackberry Tour is ????

  • blah

    @dear chap,

I bet the relationship is that RIM’s probably payin’ these posters to post info everywhere….

I say why bother with a tour… circa 1999 software… Pre, iPhone, Android and even HTC TP2/touchFlo kick BB any day

  • Greg

I think Palm forgot the Pre should be a phone first. They should have added a call and end button.

  • 3 Phones Jugglin

    @ Chap

About as irrelevant as you commenting on my post and you saying nothing about the SDK yourself, which i did earlier..

    @ Blah

Nobody is getting paid anything…BGR hasnt said anything about Sprints release date so its probably releveant to sprint users in a sprint related thread. Palm needs better keyboards..IPhone needs a better network..Must be a reason Android is only taken seriously by the #4 carrier here…& Touchflow is just a Cover for the Rust on WinMo…RIM must move the most units for some reason…

Whenever they say “it’s not about the money”, it’s ALWAYS about the money! There is no such thing as a coincidence (in ‘virtual’ life)…

  • STFU you

    @3 Phones Jugglin,

I do believe you win the King of InterWeb Comments award for June 2009.

Not because of ‘irrelevant comment’ (please, people complaining about irrelevant comments? Seriously? Was the internet invented last week??)… but because you actually took offense to another irrelevant comment pointing out your irrelevant comment and just HAD to comment about it. Sheesh.

Also… all your comments really just translate like this to the rest of us:
“Look at me everyone! Look at me! I am saying something now! Typing with my keyboard! Read my words as if you care! Read it! Someone please– oohhh, someone replied! Now I talks shit about thems! Then tells them my awful wasteful plans then attacks them for saying something to me!! I tell you I’m buying a phone. YAY!! A phone! I do have a voice! I is special, I am! See! Mommy WAS wrong!” ugghhg.. STFU.

My pre is just fine with the apps I have (excluding me being able to edit word docs and adobe flash but I know both are coming very soon)

  • Iwa

Pre is a pretty dumb phone at the moment. Scores of useful apps you find for Windows Mobile and iPhone not present on the Pre. If it is your first smartphone you maybe happy, as the tech ignorant were with the Instict, but otherwise forget it. The SDK release will help.

  • King

    @ IWA

Lol sounds like that comment could be more ignorant than the pre anyday. Let me give you a list of phones I’ve owned…sidekick 2, blackberry 8800,pearl, palm treo, palm centro..(pause…no Samsung Instinct and I’m anti iphone because the lack of physical keyboard , but you can tell by my past phones)The pre came fully loaded out of the box, is this is why your upset? Lol don’t worry by the end of the summer the pre will have plenty of more apps giving haters like you more reason to hate. ,- sent via my palm pre :)
