In these days of Touch Pro 2′s, Android Cupcake and Palm Pre’s does this phone really warrant a news story?

  • Don Louie Cantone

Which one of you are going to report about the much higher-end Touch Pro coming to Sprint and maybe T Mobile next month?

  • JoeTour

so many devices out there from VZ lately. just not the kind we are looking for…………..

  • Dustin

@JoeTour: Exactly what I’ve been thinking. I’ve been off-contract with Verizon for six months, weighing my options. I think it’s come down to waiting to see what Apple has in store, and hope it drives down VZW device prices.

A guy can dream, can’t he?

Did anyone else notice the typo in the picture? On the bottom right it says “Each GLACE (not GLANCE)is packaged with…..

    hmmm

  • because i said so

Is this the only candy bar dumb-phone Verizon offers? I know the form factor is the equivalent to the hatch back in America, but, come on, they manage to make dozens of flip phones ranging from cheap crap to expensive crap, all seemingly endless variations of the same miserable theme, but can’t get a descent candy bar?

Don’t get me wrong, I still won’t buy it, but I will be happy that it exists.

‘Glace TM’ as a matter of fact :)

Amen! …and I’m not even religious!

As someone appropriately put it about the Trance previously…not a Glance in hell.

Verizon kills me, how the hell can they charge 50.00 for a phone like this? It has the specs of phones free on contract with t-mobile, hell id take that new samsung qwerty messenger for tmo that is 14.99 over this slab of junk verizon is selling for 50 bucks…

I despise Verizon, all they have going for them is good coverage (which is at a very high cost and only slightly better than tmobile), they lock there phones down and cripple them (ex: the touch pro’s ram was cut it half) and there feature phones ALL look exactly the same on the user interfaces…There EnV line is pathetic and ugly, they look like fat calculators. The Storm was a disaster, the dare is not even a smartphone and cant even compete with the big dogs, the alias 2 is a clever ideal that is slapped over with verizons ugly boring interface.

Sorry i just have severe hate for verizon and it sickens me that a compnay so bland and boring leads the nations carriers in subscribers… I dont get it… Im a bit of a T-Mobile fan boy but hell id take sprint or At&t over verizon any day

I’d hate to hear what you think of the Sidekicks then. Those things are -ugly-.

Severe hate like that often comes from envy (resisting pun…). You’ll get over it, I promise.

Reality is, There isnt a damn thing that Verizon Can release on June 5th or anything the Month of june for that matter that would come close to having the Intrest of The Pre(Sprint), Blackberry 8900(At&t), New Iphone, or Touch Pro 2(Sprint)…other than The Storm 2 which isnt happnin……i know they want attention too, but neither of their june 5th releases warrant any.

  • bob

after the dust settles… that’s when big red is gonna hit you with some nice smartphones. bb tour coming, storm2 (we’ll see), rumors of a zune phone… vzw leads the way for a reason. I know they do cripple their phones, & they are very picky of their line of devices. time well tell… this is a gonna be a busy summer…

  • JunkNugget

I find it funny that if a phone is not an iPhone, Touch Pro, Palm Pre or any other high end device, then it must not be spoken of. Keep in mind, Verizon and LG will sell a HUGE amount of entry level phones like this. Actually, like it or not, they may sell twice as many Glance’s then Sprint will sell of the Palm Pre. Just because you do not find it exciting, doesn’t mean everyone thinks like that.

Looks like the Nokia candybar from a few years back. That phone I believe was a bomb primarily due to the difficult to use naviagtion button and the awkward keys. I personally like a simple Candybar. Little pricey for a non 3G though

  • justinhub2003

I have no envy about the envy line what so ever… I maybe slightly jaded that a cell phone company gets away with there crippling antics and boring interfaced phones, and somehow manages to be the number one carrier. I honestly think that Verizon just lacks innovation and doesnt take risks (for ex: they had a chance at being the exclusive carrier of the iphone, probably bc they cant lock it down) and then the risks they do take really turn out to be DuD’s (the blackberry storm)…

  • phoneslinger2012

As a point the Strom is actually one of the top selling BB’s worldwide of all. BB is pissed that VZW is selling this device so low because it drives down their handset value. If you are referring to the software than you need to do more research than you have. BB has released 15 total(core s/w)version updates more than any other manufacturer in such a short time. Problem is like every profitable company protecting their revanue streams VZW is slow to make many of these releases official. VZW wants to protect the user from major glitches and open doors. Safe & secure is the name of the game VZW doesnt want you to be trackable by 3rd parties and wide open for hacking by malecious persons. Lets face it if a BB is used as it is intended you life is on that device. If you want wide open than look elsewhere because boring though it may be its for the users/governments protection and that is why VZW is #1. The iPhone isn’t secure, cant insure, not tested for high price point, wouldn’t support VZW revenue streams, one sided deal for apple where they would be making all the comm. on sales along with data packages. Need I say more? If you hate Verizon you need to come with your A-Game and stop selling toys that t-mobile, sprint, at&t data services cant support. Why else would you offer WiFi on these “SUPERRIOR” devices. Ask yourself: Why doesnt all my services work everywhere? Why isn’t network security important to my wireless provider? Is the price I’m paying really worth the service I recieve? Some people are always tripin over pennies!
