It’s amazing what a well-timed mea culpa can do. VG24/7 points us to a new research note from Baird analyst Colin Sebastian, who says that Microsoft is in a very good position to win the next-generation console wars despite its early public relations gaffes. In particular, Sebastian says that Microsoft’s decision to backtrack on its controversial used game and online connectivity policies for the Xbox One has helped it regain “some momentum” that it lost at the E3 gaming conference. Sebastian also says that his “supply chain checks suggest Microsoft may have the benefit of a 2-3x unit advantage at launch compared to Sony’s PS4.” Microsoft will start selling the Xbox One this November for $499.99.
