Leaked Windows Mobile 6. 1 ROMs with the GPS unlocked have been floating around for a a little while now but this the first Windows 6.5 ROM for the Omnia. The custom ROM has removed a slew of extra applications that come bundled with the Omnia, including VZ Navigator, VZ AppZone, Digital Frame, Shozu, Silver Inbox and more. It also includes a handful of useful applications including Google Maps, the Official Youtube player, and the WM 6.5 Facebook App. The flashing process is straight forward but anyone attempting such a procedure would be wise to peruse the entire thread for issues and errors encountered by others before diving in. More than one person has noted difficulty flashing with non-XP machines and via a USB 1.1 port.
