Somebody definitely spilled something over at the HTC labs. No, the image above is not a 1989 Ford Mustang rolling around the Jersey shore. It is in fact the first live shot of the upcoming HTC Opal – the phone we all hoped was killed on the drawing board. Carrying specs that are basically identical to the HTC Touch, the Opal is basically the exact opposite of the other leaked HTC handset making the rounds right now, the HTC Touch HD. The only real differences we can come up with are the rubber band wrapped around the perimeter, the new d-pad and the 80s-tastic finish. Seriously, what’s up with the metallic sparkle going on up there? We can only hope that it’s just a result of some seriously weird camera flash feedback or something. At any rate, expect to be passing on this one as you continue to drool over the Touch HD.
