Tesla has already begun sending out invitations to its March 31 event where the company will, at long last, take the wraps off of its highly anticipated Model 3. According to Green Car Reports, invitations began going out this week for what will undoubtedly be a blockbuster event in Los Angeles. For those curious, photos of the invitations have already been uploaded on the Tesla Motor Club website.

Though production on the Model 3 isn’t slated to begin until late next year, folks eager to get their pre-orders in will be able to do so rather soon. As Tesla CEO Elon Musk relayed via Twitter not too long ago, pre-orders for the Model 3 will begin in Tesla stores starting on March 31. One day later, on April 1, interested buyers will be able to put in a reservation online.

Price wise, the Model 3 will cost $35,000 before incentives are taken into consideration, thus setting the stage for the Model 3 to truly become the first mainstream electric vehicle on the planet.

Just recently, we highlighted remarks from Tesla CTO JB Straubel which indicated that the Model 3 will be similar in size to the Audi A4. Straubel also added that the Model 3 “will surprise people with the level of features it includes.”
