T-Mobile has finally made its latest Android smartphone available in stores and on its website — and thankfully, the “As low as $499.99” seen on the device’s landing page is a little off base. $499.99 is the phone’s full retail price of course, and it can actually be had for as low as $199.99 with a new two-year service agreement. The Samsung Galaxy S 4G was first announced last week at $149.99, but it has since been revised up to the standard $200 price point. And that $200 gets you a beautiful 4-inch Super-AMOLED display, a 1GHz Hummingbird processor, a 5-megapixel camera and compatibility with Samsung’s “4G” HSPA+ network, of curse. It also runs Android 2.2 (Froyo), unfortunately, and there’s no telling at this point when it might get an update to Gingerbread.
