This is the next Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs: Aaron Sorkin and Christian Bale

Many people still wonder what Steve Jobs would do today if he were still at the helm of Apple, even though Tim Cook has proven time and time again that he can run Apple like nobody else, perhaps even better in some ways than its iconic co-founder and former leader. But people are still fascinated with the genius that pushed Apple’s limits for so many years, and Aaron Sorkin thinks he found the next Jobs for his upcoming retelling of the epic story.

After Noah Wyle in 1999 and Ashton Kutcher in 2013, Christian Bale has been confirmed as the next actor to play Jobs in a feature film that will be based on the official Jobs biography penned by Walter Isaacson.

Director Aaron Sorkin, famous for many titles including the Facebook-based The Social Network, told Bloomberg he choose Christian Bale for the role without even requiring an audition.

“What we needed was the best actor on the board in a certain age range… He really is a phenomenal actor…He didn’t have to audition,” Sorkin said. “Well, there was a meeting. The role is an extremely difficult role – he has more words to say than most people have in three movies combined. He’s going to crush it.”

Sorkin’s full interview with Bloomberg follows below.
