Following the announcement of the Xperia Z smartphone earlier this month, Sony (SNE) on Monday unveiled the Xperia Z tablet. The 10.1-inch slate is equipped with a 1,920 x 1,200-pixel full-HD display, 2GB of RAM, a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and an 8.1-megapixel rear camera. The Xperia Z is also dust-proof and waterproof, and features 4G LTE connectivity, NFC, a micro SD slot and Android 4.1. The amazing part is that Sony managed to pack all these specs into an ultra-thin, lightweight frame. The Xperia Z is only 6.9 millimeters thick and weighs 495 grams, making it the thinnest and lightest 10-inch tablet in the world. Pricing details were not announced, however Sony revealed that the Xperia Z tablet will be available this spring.
