Actor Simon Pegg will be appearing in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens and he was recently asked by MTV to rank every single Star Wars movie that’s come before it. As a bonafide Star Wars fan, Pegg had no problem ranking the all six movies from worst to best in just under 60 seconds, as you’ll see in the video below.

Attack of the Clones ranks at the bottom of the pile because Pegg thought it would be better than The Phantom Menace but it turned out to be even worse. As bad as Phantom Menace was, there’s a definite case to be made that the truly horrible Anakin-Padmé love scenes made it the worst of the worst.
After Clones and Menace, Pegg says that Revenge of the Sith earns a spot as the best of the three bad prequels since it at least had an interesting story about Anakin’s conversion to the Dark Side. After that he ranks Return of the Jedi, A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back as the three best Star Wars movies, with Empire taking the top overall spot. Pegg says that he really likes Jedi even though it often gets a lot of flack from Ewok haters, but he still thinks it’s the weakest of the three original films.
All told, this isn’t a very controversial ranking order but it’s nonetheless impressive to see Pegg rip through them all while providing solid justifications for each choice in under a minute.
