This is the first significant complaint we’ve heard about the Galaxy S6

The Galaxy S6 and S6 edge have both been getting rave reviews but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to complain about. SamMobile directs our attention to the first significant complaint we’ve heard about Samsung’s new flagship phones, although it sounds like this particular gripe is something that can be fixed with a software update.

Apparently, many Galaxy S6 owners at the XDA forums have noticed poor RAM management on their devices that has been causing app crashes to occur much more frequently than on older devices.

“I’ve personally been irritated by the horrendous RAM management on my Galaxy S6 edge – apps like WhatsApp and Facebook, which usually stay in memory and show up instantly on devices with 2GB+ RAM, often take time to load as the phone keeps killing their processes,” writes SamMobile’s Abhijeet M. “It’s a problem with browsing as well. Chrome will often reload when you go back to it, even if you have only opened one other app after sending it to the background.”

It’s very likely that this is an issue that will be fixed with a software update, although some have pointed out that this issue may be more related to Android 5.0 Lollipop more than Samsung’s own software overlay. In any case, it certainly isn’t something that should stop you from buying the Galaxy S6 if you’ve been planning on picking one up.
