The next major update for the PlayStation App has arrived. Sony released the latest update on Friday, which adds a new ‘Live from PlayStation’ tile to the app, giving users the ability to watch live streams of their favorite games on Ustream or Twitch. Unfortunately, the app does not support playback itself — when you select a stream, you’ll be rerouted to your browser for Twitch video or to the official app for Ustream. The new version of the app also supports the playback of video in notification from the PlayStation Store and the app will no longer automatically connect to a PlayStation 4 in standby mode. These are minor updates, but ever addition makes the PlayStation App that much more viable as a true second screen experience.
