Google did not spill any important details about Android L during its I/O keynote on Wednesday, so it’s not clear what the name of the new mobile operating system is, or its version number – some say it’s Android 5.0 Lollipop. It’s also not known what devices will be able to run it. With KitKat, Google tried to make Android compatible with devices sporting as little as 512MB of RAM, in order to reduce fragmentation, and it will be interesting to see whether the company will manage to do that with Android L as well. From the looks of it though, it appears that certain mid-range handsets will indeed be able to run the OS.

Motorola Germany confirmed on Facebook that the Moto X and Moto G will both receive the Android L update later this year, referring to the update as Android 5.0.

“Android 5.0 arrives in autumn on Moto X and Moto G,” Motorola Germany wrote. “Do you like the new design?” the company asked fans.

In the discussion that followed, Motorola Germany also revealed that it’s not known yet whether the entry-level Moto E will be upgradeable to Android L this fall, suggesting that in case that’s not going to be a possibility, then the handset will get the new Android One OS instead.

Google did not elaborate on the Android One software experience during I/O either, simply revealing that it will offer users a stock Android experience with Google-handled automatic OS updates and Google Play auto-installs for apps.

UPDATE: Motorola Germany said in a statement on Facebook (via Phandroid) the Motorola Germany page which was detailing the Moto X and Moto G update is fake. “Unfortunately, we have found that a Facebook profile under the name ‘Motorola Germany’ with the following URL was created, the company said. “We would like to point out that this is not an official Motorola site and expressly distance ourselves from said content. All relevant information about Motorola can be found only here on this page.”
