Over the weekend, Kanye West took control of the mic for a good 11 minutes during MTV’s annual VMA awards ceremony. During the course of a sprawling speech, which was at times endearing, the controversial and outspoken rapper-producer touched on all sorts of topics before casually mentioning his plans to run for President in 2016. And oh yes, did we mention that West admittedly “rolled up a little something” before the awards show to “knock the edge off”?

Suffice it to say, if you haven’t yet seen West’s speech in its entirety, it’s well worth checking out.

Now as entertaining and hilariously random as West’s speech was, adding in a bit of Seinfeldian flare is a surefire way to make it laugh out loud funny. And lo and behold, that’s exactly what the Seinfeld2000 Twitter account put together.

Brilliant.

Say what you will about West’s narcissistic tendencies, but you can always count on him to inject a bit of life into an industry that’s far too often diluted down in the interest of political correctness. And when you add in Seinfeld’s classic jingle for good measure, well, that’s just Internet gold right there.

Taking the Kanye speech as comedy theme a step further, TV writer David Elmaleh re-imagined West’s speech as a stand-up routine. Believe it or not, but it works just as well as the Seinfeld clip.
