Apple (AAPL) is gearing up for quite a fall season if even half of the current rumors floating around pan out. First we’re looking at a brand new “iPhone 5” in September, then Apple will reportedly launch a new “iPad mini” alongside a tweaked third-generation iPad tablet soon after. That’s not all, however, as well-connected KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says Apple has plans to launch a redesigned iPod touch in September as well.
“Though all new design iPod touch and iPod nano will be launched, growth momentum will mainly come from the latter,” Ming-Chi wrote in a note to investors on Tuesday. “The new iPod touch, like iPhone 5, uses in-cell panel, whose availability is limited in the initial stage. Shipments will therefore be hindered.”
A separate report from Japanese Apple blog Macotakara suggests that the fifth-generation iPod touch launching this fall will include the same 4-inch touchscreen set to debut in the next iPhone as well as the iPhone 4S’s A5 processor and a new brushed metal case that may be similar in appearance to the render pictured above.
