Apple’s iPhone can do a lot of things, but giving its owner night vision definitely isn’t one of them. In fact, most iPhone models can barely capture a decent photograph in low light, let alone see in a pitch black room. Enter the Flir One iPhone case, which is compatible with either the iPhone 5 or iPhone 5s and features an integrated night vision camera. It isn’t traditional night vision of course, which would be very cost prohibitive. Instead, the Flir One “detects infrared energy (heat) and converts it into an electronic signal, which is then processed to produce a thermal image on your phone screen and perform temperature calculations,” according to Flir’s website. The case will launch this spring and will cost $350.
