After a report a few days ago said that Apple will hold its annual iPhone event on September 9th, sources from Japan and Germany say the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be launched in stores the following week, on September 18th.

According to ITHome, Japanese media also says the iPhone 6s will be unveiled on September 9th, with preorders set to start a few days later on Friday, September 11th. A week later, on September 18th, the phones will be available in retail stores in various markets as part of the first launch wave.

German site Macerkopf says it learned from its “mobile circles” that German providers are already preparing for a September 18th iPhone 6s launch. Deutsche Telekom kicked off a program a few days ago that seems to specifically target potential subscribers looking to upgrade to the iPhone 6s next month.

Japan and Germany are usually two of the countries getting new Apple gear at the same time with America.

Finally, Dutch tech site TechTastic says the new iPhones should be available in the Netherlands on September 26th. However, the site has used ITHome’s report to figure out the Dutch iPhone 6s launch. TechTastic says that Dutch customers get the iPhone fairly quickly after it’s launched in Apple’s main markets – last year, the iPhone 6 was launched in the Netherlands a week after its official U.S. release date.

Apple, meanwhile, has yet to issue press invitations for its iPhone 6s fall media event.
