Although Apple’s new iPhones are “bigger than big,” the company seemingly recognizes that some people still prefer its smaller devices that fit perfectly in your hand. With that in mind, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Apple release a new iPhone next year with a display of 4 inches, just as it did with the iPhone 5 in 2012 and the iPhone 5s in 2013.
MORE iPHONE 6s RUMORS: Deja vu: New report says the iPhone 6s might have a special kind of glass cover next year
AppleInsider points us to a new research note written by Cowen and Company analyst Timothy Arcuri, who claims that Apple may release an “iPhone 6s mini” next year alongside updated versions of Apple’s 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone models.
AppleInsider notes that Arcuri has a “mixed” track record with Apple news, although this isn’t the first time we’ve heard about Apple releasing a new 4-inch iPhone in 2015. Chinese publication Feng reported earlier this month that Apple planned to release a new 4-inch phone next year as a replacement for its legacy devices such as the iPhone 5s, which it still sells at a lower price point than its current flagship models.
At any rate, we’ll still put this new report into the “rumor” category, although we expect we’ll be hearing more about Apple’s iPhone plans for 2015 pretty shortly into the new year.
