Samsung is apparently very interested in accommodating Apple’s needs, as the South Korean giant has created a standalone team of 200 employees that’s working exclusively on displays that will be used in iPads and MacBooks.

Bloomberg reports that the new team is only allowed to share information about the company’s dealings with Apple within the group, and the team also helps with sales.

Specific details about this newly formed team aren’t available yet, and it’s not clear what kind of displays it’s currently providing to Apple. Recent reports have claimed that both Samsung and LG are looking to win more display orders from Apple, with LG overhauling its display line to accommodate IGZO display production for future iPads, including the rumored iPad Pro.

Apple is now the biggest external customer for Samsung components, a source told Bloomberg, with the South Korean giant providing additional components for iPhones and iPads as well, on top of displays.

Most notably, Samsung will reportedly make the A9 chip that will power this year’s iPhone and iPad models, an important win for the company. Last year, Samsung lost the bid to make the A8 chip to TSMC.

LG apparently also has a team in place dealing only with Apple’s display needs.
