Thursday it was a reference to a new iPhone found embedded in an obscure file within the iPhone 2.2.1 firmware. On Friday, a recently modified javascript file for Google pack,, contains a full description of Google’s long rumored online file storage service, GDrive. Embedded within the file is the following,

// Localized product category of GDrive
_CI_messages.CI_GDRIVE_CATEGORY = ‘Online file backup and storage’;
// Localized short description of GDrive (1st
// of 2 description lines)
_CI_messages.CI_GDRIVE_DESCRIPTION_1 = ‘GDrive provides reliable storage for all of your files, including photos, music and documents’;
// Localized short description of GDrive (2nd
// of 2 description lines)
_CI_messages.CI_GDRIVE_DESCRIPTION_2 = ‘GDrive allows you to access your files from anywhere, anytime, and from any device –  be it from your desktop, web browser or cellular phone’;

The inclusion of the text into a Google Pack file suggests that GDrive may be offered as an application within Google Pack. We are unsure whether this GDrive text is a new addition or a reference that has been there for a while but only recently discovered. Either way, this is as close to a confirmation as we are going to get that Google is indeed moving forward with the concept of GDrive.
