Galaxy S6 vs. Galaxy S6 edge

The Galaxy S6 might not be able to match the iPhone 6 in some graphics performance tests, even though the former has more advanced components than Apple’s top handset. But Samsung’s 2015 flagship has no competition when it comes to measuring performance for top Android handsets currently available in stores.

AnTuTu published a report ranking the top 10 smartphones by performance for the first quarter of the year, with the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge topping the chart. The two phones managed scores significantly higher than everything else, including the HTC One M9 that came in third.

Of Samsung’s two new handsets, the Galaxy S6 is the better version, scoring 67,520 on AnTuTu, with the curved model having a 62,373 score. Meanwhile, the HTC One M9 is listed with 52,709 points, followed by a variety of devices that scored between 49,000 and 50,000 points, including the Galaxy S5 (European version), Meizu MX4, Google Nexus 6 and Galaxy Note 4.

In addition to listing the top 10 smartphones of Q1 2015 when it comes to performance, AnTuTu also posted charts showing the top 10 processors and the top 10 GPU chips. As expected, AnTuTu’s tests revealed that the 14nm 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 System-on-Chip found inside the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge managed to beat the new Snapdragon 810 processor when it comes to graphics performance as well as CPU performance.

Graphs showing AnTuTu’s findings follow below, with the full report available at the source link.
