After various leaks, including a boring first photo taken with the Galaxy S5, claimed that Samsung’s upcoming smartphone will feature a 16-megapixel main camera, a new picture reportedly taken with the device has been shared. Well-known leaker @evleaks posted a Galaxy S5 camera sample image on Twitter, after discovering it on Flickr.
The image is a “full resolution Galaxy S5 test photo for AT&T,” @evleaks wrote, having a resolution of 5,312 x 2,988 pixels, which corresponds to a 16-megapixel shooter. This new leak contradicts a purported Galaxy S5 retail packaging that suggested the phone will have a 2o-megapixel main camera.
The EXIF data of the image, which is still available on Flickr, reveals that the device used to take the blurry keyboard photo is a Samsung SM-G900A, and that the picture has been taken on February 11. The SM-G900x is said to be the family of Galaxy S5, with several models having been spotted online in a variety of places so far.
“Ji seo,” the Flickr user that posted this picture, also uploaded several other images taken with Samsung devices, although none of the others was captured with a Galaxy S5 model.
In addition to increasing the number of megapixels on the Galaxy S5, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Samsung include new camera-related software features in its new TouchWiz user interface. The company will unveil the Galaxy S5 at MWC 2014, on February 24.
