If you were hyping yourself up for a 2560 x 1440 Quad HD display on the Galaxy S5, it might be time to start tempering your expectations. Samsung devices with very similar model numbers started appearing online this week, and the latest discovery, the SM-G900L, has appeared under a listing on the website of South Korean mobile operator LG U+ with one very interesting reveal.
According to the listing, the SM-G900L is a Galaxy device that will run Android 4.4 KitKat, but its 5.1-inch display will retain the standard 1080p resolution of the current smartphone generation.
Considering how sparse Galaxy S5 details are, the specifications are likely subject to change, and other S5 models could have different display resolutions. But if the listing is correct, Samsung’s new flagship phone might be lacking in some of the rumored specs that have made Android fans anxious for the upcoming announcement.
