It takes a lot to come across as less hip and cutting-edge than REO Speedwagon, but executives from Research In Motion (RIMM) may have pulled it off. In an effort to boost the morale of its developer base this week, RIM released a music video dedicated to its app developers set to the tune of REO Speedwagon’s “Keep on Loving You.”

Among other things, the song promises developers that “the launch is just ahead” and “we’ll have BlackBerry 10 both in full touch and QWERTY editions!” The song also tries to soothe developers about their long wait for BlackBerry 10 by telling them that the wait “won’t be forever” and helpfully noting that “there’s new stuff for you to use until then, and it all flows together.”
