Apple on Wednesday unveiled its new iPad during a press conference in San Francisco. The sleek tablet features a number of upgrades compared to the previous-generation model, including a 2,049 x 1,536-pixel Retina Display, a quad-core Apple A5X processor, a new 5-megapixel camera and the option for 4G LTE connectivity. As promised, the new iPad is now available for pre-order from Apple’s online store and pricing starts at $499 for the Wi-Fi-only model with 16GB of internal storage, topping out at $829 for the 64GB version with embedded 3G and 4G LTE. Pre-orders will be delivered on Friday, March 16th when the tablet goes on sale in stores and online. Apple’s 16GB iPad 2 is now available for $399 as well, $100 off its previous price.
