Apple TV release date may have just leaked

Remember when Apple used to give us firm release dates for upcoming products? Ah yes, those were the days. Though the iPhone still gets the all-star treatment with respect to a reliable release schedule, the upcoming Apple TV wasn’t so lucky. Initially slated to hit store shelves in late October, a number of reports have since claimed that while pre-orders will in fact open up in October, the device won’t actually go on sale until sometime in November.

Now comes a report via MacRumors suggesting that Apple’s highly anticipated set-top box might finally have a release date we can latch onto. As it turns out, two Apple Authorized Resellers in Europe  have already begun accepting pre-orders for the device online.

Electronics retailer Elgiganten, equivalent to Best Buy in the Nordic Region, is accepting Apple TV 4 pre-orders in Denmark and Norway with expected delivery in November.

German electronics retailer Cyberport has also listed the Apple TV 4 and iPad Pro for pre-order on its website.

Cutting to the chase, Cyberport’s product page specifically mentions that the Apple TV 4 will be available on Thursday, November 5, as evidenced by the screenshot below. This of course wouldn’t be the first time that an Apple retail partner has spilled the beans on a previously secretive launch date.

If the November 5 launch date is indeed accurate, it would match up with a 9to5Mac report from last week claiming that the new Apple TV is set to launch sometime during the first week of November.

Regardless, the upcoming fourth-gen Apple TV is undoubtedly the company’s most exciting update to its beloved hobby we’ve seen yet. Armed with an A8 processor, a new Siri-enabled remote, Universal Search functionality, and of course its own dedicated App Store, it’ll be interesting to see how consumers take to Apple’s compelling new device once it becomes available.
